The biggest day of racing in over 25 years will go green at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway as raceway and Track Enterprises officials make final preparations to make it a huge success. Tickets are few and far between for Saturday’s July 17 event featuring the Camping World SRX Series and the Rackley Roofing Masters of the Pros 150.
The event will headline the Camping World SRX Series as a championship will be decided at the historic facility. The tour, in its inaugural season, will be led by former NASCAR Cup champion Tony Stewart, who has taken two of the five wins. Multi-time Trans Am Series champion Ernie Francis, Jr., the winner at Lucas Oil Raceway, is second in points, while IndyCar star Marco Andretti, former NASCAR champion, Bobby Labonte, and four-time Indy 500 winner, Helio Castroneves completes the top five.
More excitement has been building for the race in recent days as Chase Elliott, last year’s NASCAR Cup Series champion, was added to the field, as was Hailie Deegan. It will only be Elliott’s second time racing against his father, multiple Most Popular Cup Series Driver, Bill Elliott. Rounding out the star list are Tony Kanaan, Willy T. Ribbs, Paul Tracy and Michael Waltrip.
When it comes to the racing program, the list of Pro Late Model drivers who competed in the Rackley Roofing Masters of the Pros 150 is perhaps just as impressive as the SRX show. 50 is the number of drivers expected to race for victory in the best Pro Late Model race held, approved by the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour. Many of the track’s regulars will be pitted against some of the nation’s top traveling stars as they race for the Masters’ Jacket.
Despite the large, covered grandstand, there are still very few seats and standing tickets available. Those wishing to purchase a ticket are requested to do so quickly, as the event is selling out. Tickets are available on the track’s website at www.nashvillefairgroundsspeedway.racing.
The 2021 season has already seen some great races with more top events planned in the coming months. The King of the Wings Sprint Car Series comes to town on Saturday, August 7, flying around the famous 5/8 mile. On Friday 17 September and Saturday 18 September, local racing takes center stage during a two-day show. The locals are back on Saturday, October 9 before everyone gets ready for the massive All American 400 weekend from Friday, October 29 through Sunday, October 31.
