Beginning July 26, Michigan residents seeking high-paying careers that include benefits, health care, and retirement can apply to become apprentices for jobs as stationary engineers or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians.
Applicants must choose an internship as a stationary engineer or HVAC technician. Stationary engineers and HVAC technicians are apprentices for four years and 8,000 hours.
The internship period includes related school instruction and supervised work site work experience.
To be eligible for an internship, applicants must be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED certificate at the time of application.
Applicants must be a US citizen or legally resident in Michigan.
Applicants must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation, as students often travel to work assignments throughout Michigan.

Internships are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
