Plumbers rescue man who fell into Bethel Park creek after medical emergency – WPXI

BETHEL PARK, Dad. – A group of plumbers had anything but a normal working day.

“You’re taking a double shot, wasn’t even sure what I was actually seeing at first,” said one of the men. “I just responded.”

After seeing the man in the water, the three men from All Pro Plumbing jumped into action. They worked near the “T” stop on Logan Road. The owner said he saw “a gentleman’s crown in the creek”.

The men grabbed the man in the water and helped him to safety with one of their ladders.

“When we first tried to pull him up, he didn’t respond,” said John Oakes. “We couldn’t get him up the ladder, so these two guys were able to grab his shoulders and just pull him straight up, pull him up the ladder and take him to the sidewalk.”

They said the water was high due to the recent rainfall and the current was strong. The men said they weren’t heroes – they would help anyone in need.

“If it was someone, I would help everyone, just as I wish someone would help me,” said Jon Stapas. “I’m glad it wasn’t the worst.”
