Sunnova inks deal with ChargePoint for combo solar + EV charging installation services

National solar installation company Sunnova has partnered with EV charging company ChargePoint to offer Sunnova customers EV charging solutions.

EVs in the home increase the annual energy demand from 50% to 100%, depending on the charging behavior of the owner. As automakers expand the range of electric cars across multiple segments, consumers are responding with increasing adoption. There are already more EVs on the road than ever before, with US EV growth reaching 166% in the first half of 2021, and 80% of all EV charging is done at home, according to the US Department of Energy.

Sunnova joins other national solar installers in the EV charger game. Sunrun will be the exclusive installer of the chargers for the all-electric F-150 Lightning truck, and SunPower has signed a deal with Wallbox for its EV charger offering.
