A 13-year-old boy was hit by a gray and blue Volkswagen Passat at 4:30 pm in Nassau County at 4:30 pm on May 4 as he crossed the street for 271 Burnside Ave. in North Lawrence. Law enforcement said.
The vehicle took off and, police said, headed east on Burnside Avenue toward Rockaway Turnpike. The boy sustained cuts to his knee and face and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
