In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, India is relentlessly fighting the virus. Due to the spike in cases, after the second wave of Coronavirus began, several state governments have taken strict measures to stop the spread of the virus. Many celebrities have also provided assistance to those in need. As a result, restrictions have been imposed in many parts of the country, with the police ensuring that pandemic rules are adhered to. In recent weeks, there have been reports of a motorist being beaten by police for ignoring lockdown rules.
A video of a man trying to protect himself from the police in Karnataka is circulating like wildfire on social media. The clip Nolan Pinto shared on Twitter shows a man from Karnataka’s Udupi riding a bicycle with an aluminum roof plate attached to his bike. He was also seen wearing a helmet and mask to avoid blows from lathi. Along with the video, the journalist wrote: “Since many motorists get a few sharp blows from the lathi country to the buttocks, this cyclist comes to Udupi prepared with rear protection, helmet and a mask.”
