With a Lifetime Warranty, Love Really Is Forever

Looking for love in the right places? How about the lifetime warranty of your windows and doors? Not sure why that matters? Let’s talk about that! A lifetime warranty can be the key to success in your long-term relationship with your windows and doors.

What is a Lifetime Warranty?

A lifetime warranty is a warranty on all or part of the product that can last for the entire life of the product, but more often it is the life expectancy of the product.

Why does a lifetime warranty matter?

A lifetime warranty can really save you later. They may be better than a shorter term warranty, such as a one (1) or two (2) year warranty, simply because it is more likely that problems will arise with any product over time.

Ask the right questions.

Not sure about the warranty? Dig in and ask questions. The more informed you are about the warranty on offer, the less you will be surprised later if you ever run into problems. Here are a few questions that should be at the top of your list when it comes to exploring your window and door guarantee.

Is there a deductible?
Basically, if there is a problem, even if it is covered, what will you have to pay out of pocket?

Who owns the warranty?
Is it from the manufacturer, the company that installs it or even a third party? Keep in mind that if you’re installing your own windows and / or doors or if you’re using a contractor / subcontractor, you probably don’t have any warranty on the installation, so if something happens you’re not covered by all.

What is NOT covered?
We tend to just automatically believe that everything is covered, but that’s rarely the case.

Is maintenance required?
This is often a place where a warranty can let you down. If maintenance is required, but you do not do it, even if you did not know it may void the warranty.
